At first, Cody had no idea what his boss used to be speaking about. He most probably noticed the meme, laughed, and shared it with out a second concept. But once it became clear his boss was once talking about the Elmo meme, the placement become that a lot more ridiculous.

Cody will have been fired from his job, but it sort of feels like Andy used to be a horrible person to work for anyway, and it sort of feels like Andy is truly getting what was coming to him as well.
