Will Moana be trans in 'Moana 2?'

Based on the first pictures and trailer that have been released for this sequel, Moana appears to be like very a lot the same as she did in the movie's first installment. There's not anything to signify that she can be trans.

The rumor that she would be trans seems to have began after Mouse Trap Site, a satirical social media service, steered that the persona would turn out to be Disney's first trans Disney princess.

“BREAKING: Moana is The First Transgender Princess!" the post said, accompanied by an image of what a male version of Moana might look like. The post was meant as satire (although the joke is not totally clear) and it came several months before Disney even officially announced that a Moana sequel was happening. Even so, that didn't stop many primarily conservative voices from railing against the news, which, again, was not real.

"I am boycotting Disney," one person wrote. "I will be able to't anymore."

If you were to do even a little digging, you would see that Mouse Trap News labels itself as "100% pretend(*2*) their about web page explains.

The video has racked up millions of perspectives anyway.

Even even though the news is now not actual, the video saying it has nevertheless racked up thousands and thousands of perspectives, and those flooding the comments seem to be essentially conservative voices who consider the information to be real. Hopefully, once the movie is released, they will notice that the rumors that she would be trans had been improper.

Of path, there's a completely separate conversation to have around whether there must be any outrage over a trans Disney princess. Thus far, though, Disney hasn't presented many people who are anywhere on the queer spectrum to its canon.

Moana is not going to be a trans persona, but that doesn't imply Disney shouldn't choose to make different story decisions that would possibly indicate she is someplace on the queer spectrum. Only time will inform whether or not that in the end happens, although. For now, though, everybody's just getting mad about one thing that is almost no doubt no longer true.
