So what happened to Roger, and why did he come to a decision to hold up the gardening shears? We’ve were given the whole tale.
What happened to Roger on ‘This Old House’?
In June 2018, Roger advised lovers he used to be reducing his involvement with This Old House and its by-product Ask This Old House to generally tend to “a number of” well being issues.

“Some viewers can have noticed that I haven’t been myself during the last season,” he wrote in an open letter on the This Old House website. “In reality, I have been coping with a number of health problems that experience made functioning on television tougher. … I truly appreciate our fanatics’ determination and the worry for my well-being. Please admire my family’s privateness right now. Rest assured that I am in nice fingers, and please know that I'm grateful for all your support.”
In January 2020, This Old House host Kevin O’Connor announced on The Tonight Show that Roger could be departing the display and that Jenn Nawada can be replacing him because the display’s respectable landscaper — or, as she described it, getting into his “massive boots.”
Roger addressed his This Old House exit in a statement on the show’s website a week later. “While I’d love not anything greater than to continue showing on the shows, I can not participate as I’d like. But I’m not going anywhere,” he wrote.
“I’ll nonetheless spend time with Kevin, Richard, Tommy, Norm and all the team. There’s not anything like that team of pros … and human beings. I’m actually blessed to have labored with the most productive in the business," he continued.

As he stepped back from This Old House and Ask This Old House the last few seasons, Roger has maintained that grace and good-natured attitude, and endeared himself even more to his fanatics.”
