Craig died via suicide on July 3, 2018, at home in Studio City, Calif., whilst Tina was away at Haute Couture Paris Fashion Week, consistent with Entertainment Tonight. He was 59.
Craig was running in actual estate on the time of his demise.
The October after Craig’s demise, Tina told BBC News that he appeared fulfilled, with a new activity and a new female friend in his lifestyles. (According to ET, Craig worked in real estate in California’s San Fernando Valley.)
“I still don’t know what took him to the threshold, because at that level he had stated to me that he had by no means met a woman that he felt that approach about,” she stated on the time. “He was bringing her to meet me [for] his birthday in August. He had adorned his condominium, that I bought him years in the past. He had gotten a new process with a distinguished actual estate company in California, [which] he was very happy with.”
Tina persevered: “I have no idea what pulled him down, except something that adopted him with loneliness. I believe it was something with being on my own. But when I assume that, why didn’t he call the brand new girlfriend that gave him the lift?”
Tina noticed a “trade” in conversations with her son following his death.
Talking to BBC News about Craig, Tina stated, “He was an introverted individual, he was very shy, so I didn’t know both, except for now once I listen back to our closing conversations, I understand a trade. The last few times we talked, the conversations were other, and I didn’t know that until after the suicide.”
The “What’s Love Got to Do with It” singer also mirrored on Craig’s dying in a June 2019 CBS News interview. “I believe Craig was lonely, that’s what I feel truly got him more than anything,” she said. “I've footage all around of him smiling, and I think I’m sensing that he’s in a excellent place. I truly do.”
Nearly five years after Craig kicked the bucket, Tina followed. On May 24, 2023, word broke that Tina had died of herbal reasons. The song icon was eighty three years previous.
