I've stated it as soon as and I'll say it once more: It's a nice, nice time to consume media. Streaming services and products are pumping out tons of authentic new series and films, with lots of them pushing the limits of storytelling in a variety of different ways. Heck, I'm even shocked by Netflix's children' section at times — have you seen Octonauts? It's an ocean-animal-themed adventure series where animals help different animals and learn about them in the procedure, it's wild.
But "grown-up" series, like Vagabond starring Lee Seung-gi, are authentic as heck too.
And while Vagabond does characteristic Ok-Pop singer and actress Bae Su-ji in the show as just that, it's a cool little twist that the operative in the display is a lady, and the dude who (most probably) becomes her love interest is in truth a movie stuntman whose nephew dies in a tragic aircraft crash.
Their paths cross, alternatively, when it seems that the crash was in truth a massive govt cover-up. They join forces to unravel the mystery, and along with getting closer to the reality, get nearer to each other alongside the way. (D'awwww).
Vagabond stars Lee Seung-Gi as a stuntman and actor.
Seung-gi, who performs the stuntman and aspiring actor, Cha Dal-geon in the series, went on a tour promoting the show, and considered one of his stops was once in the Philippines, where he has a devoted fan base. Phil Star Global was once at the press event, and lapped up some additional details concerning the new Netflix series together with Seung-gi's involvement in it.
Seung-gi says that even if the show handles some rather critical subject material, like super spy thriller executive conspiracy cover-up stuff, that in the end, Vagabond is a very "fun show" and vows that from the instant viewers music in for the first episode, "they would absolutely binge-watch the whole thing once they start watching the show.”
Being a guy who plays a stuntman that's on the run from agents who don't want such a huge national cover-up to go public is a super physically demanding role, and one that Seung-gi needed to spend a lot of time preparing for.
"Apart from coaching for two to a few months in an action school together, for the scenes during which you have to pass into really fierce action scenes, I additionally skilled in Krav Maga (a self-defense and fighting gadget evolved via the Israeli military) and some other martial arts to arrange myself for the function. There are a lot of operating scenes, so with regards to getting the stipulations proper for operating, I labored onerous on that facet as neatly."
He even performed a lot of his own stunts, like the ones you see in the trailer. While the series' director assumed that they'd just get an actual stuntman to do that stuff, Seung-gi jumped right in and did it himself.
"So in the teaser, you'll see that I am jumping off from the rooftop after which fall on to the auto and the director assumed that I’m going to be the use of a stuntman but then I did it myself. Because I did it myself, we had been ready to get a lot of different cuts and footages from the scene."
This wasn't the first time that Lee Seung-gi has worked with Suzy, either — they played opposite one another in Gu Family Book, and he was ecstatic to be sharing a screen with her once again:
"So when Su-ji stated yes to the role, both myself and the manufacturers were so happy that this series was once after all being completed... It was great running with her six years in the past. But then, now that we have got met six years later, she has constructed extra a career as an actress as neatly. So, it was once more straightforward for us to get issues performed together as the actor and actress (of this series). And we've got friendship. So it was once the easiest revel in for me to paintings on set."
Lee went on to say that Vagabond carries a great message for audiences too:
"Depending on where you stand, the [concept of] good and the evil may also be considered differently. So, in that kind of a situation, in the middle of such battle of pursuits, the unchanging aspect I imagine is the distinction for one another and human rights, and some rights of the folks that should now not be violated."
Vagabond begins streaming on Netflix on Sept. 20, 2019. Will you be tuning in?
