Originally broadcast in 1978, the special received a reputation as a Star Wars assets that everybody cherished to hate.
The special used to be never released on house video. George Lucas himself did not have a lot of ingenious involvement with it either. However, he was considering the two-year gap between A New Hope and The Empire Strikes Back, so, in keeping with Lithub, he sold CBS the thought of a variety special to stay Stars Wars in the public awareness while the sequel was once being made.

However, there may be technically one part of the special on Disney+.
Although Disney+ subscribers aren't able to circulation the entirety of the Star Wars Holiday Special, they can view a small slice of the special that presented a well-known Star Wars character for the very first time.
