Why did Daemon laugh at Laena Velaryon’s funeral? After Laena dies a dragonrider’s dying, everyone attends her funeral. But her husband Daemon…laughs?

At the top of House of the Dragon Episode 6, we’re thrown for a loop when Laena Velaryon takes her personal lifestyles all over childbirth. Although we meet Laena when she’s younger, once we in spite of everything get to fulfill this grown-up model of Laena, she becomes our new favourite personality. She and Daemon Targaryen learn how to love each and every other, or so it seems, and she or he raises her kids with knowledge and integrity.

Despite all this, Episode 7 starts with Laena’s funeral. Her youngsters and parents are clearly in mourning, and even though Daemon is wearing all black, his temper is indiscernible. In truth, at one level all over the funeral, Daemon even laughs, and everybody notices. So why does Daemon laugh at Laena’s funeral?

Laena’s funeral is tragic for the family, but Daemon laughs at one level.
As we now know on this planet of Game of Thrones and House of the Dragon, pregnancy can be a death sentence. When Laena gives beginning to her third child, the child received’t come out, which is reminiscent of the primary beginning we see in Episode 1. However, unlike King Viserys, Daemon gained’t tell the maesters what to do with Laena. He refuses to sacrifice her life for the infant’s, so Laena chooses to die a dragonrider’s loss of life, and orders her dragon, Vhagar, to burn her alive.

Episode 7 opens with Laena’s funeral on Driftmark, in which everybody we’ve met to this point is in attendance. This offers us a hint that one thing main will happen — between Viserys and Alicent’s youngsters, Rhaenyra’s children, Laenor and his lover, and even Otto Hightower, shall we inform that chaos would ensue.
But prior to the chaos, during the provider, as a priest is turning in words about Laena in High Valyrian, Daemon lets out a chortle and everybody stares at him. Why is he guffawing at a funeral? There might be a number of causes.

First, a more general explanation why: Psychologically, it’s not unusual for people to laugh in unhappy or uncomfortable eventualities. Clinical psychologist Dr. Abigael San defined in a 2021 Express article about why other folks laugh at funerals: “A funeral is a state of affairs that many of us to find very tough emotionally with the whole thing that it represents. An expression of laughter can be what we name a manic defense, nearly like a coping technique but in a defensive method. Anything to divert the reality of what's taking place and the truth of loss and human vulnerability and the end of life.”
However, when it actually comes to Daemon and his motives, it’s likely that something sinister is afoot. He laughs when the priest discusses the binds between households, however Daemon after all knows that there’s unhealthy blood between the households, so he might be laughing at the lack of fact. Or, he might be understanding that he can now finally be with Rhaenyra.
In essence, any medley of emotions could lead to a random outburst of laughter from Daemon, even at his wife’s funeral.
